End-to-end architecture for the Volkswagen Group's mobile online services. I built a REST API and web frontend for Sparx EA and automate diagram generation — with AI (Claude) — to relieve solution architects.

Architecture for Car-Net (Connected Car) in vehicle projects such as the Passat GTE, Tiguan, ID.3, ID.5 and ID.7. Set up and safeguarded the Car-Net meta-model in Sparx EA and a central repository for over 2,000 stakeholders.

Jan van Duuren
I'm Jan van Duuren, a freelance enterprise architect with 37 years of IT experience — 20 of them as an IT architect and the last eleven as an enterprise architect in Automotive Connected Car. I started in IT infrastructure and Unix engineering and moved into architecture in 2005.
Since 2013 I have worked on the mobile online services of the Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen AG and CARIAD) in Wolfsburg. I designed end-to-end architectures, built a REST API and web frontend for Sparx EA and manage a central architecture repository for more than 2,000 stakeholders.
My strength is standardising solution architectures with smart models and tooling, sharply reducing modelling errors and lead time. I automate architecture processes with scripting, Node.js and increasingly with AI (Claude) in combination with Sparx EA.
Through Van Duuren IT Consultancy (since 2015) I put that experience to work for organisations that take architecture seriously and genuinely want to steer by it.
